In November, 2005, I traveled to Grand Rapids to meet with the Zondervan team and sign a new contract, for a book to be published in 2007. Seated to my right is Zondervan's President and CEO, Doug Lockhart. Standing is Sandra VanderZicht, Associate Publisher and Executive Editor for the Christian Living line.

While there, the Zondervan team surprised me with a cake celebrating Sacred Marriage selling over 150,000 copies.

"This is a picture from February of 2002, when I spoke at two churches in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The couple on the left are Pastor Robert and Phama Woodyard. On the right are Pastor George and Thelma Young, of Holy Temple Baptist Church. What struck me about this weekend is how a predominantly white Reformed Church of America joined with a predominantly black Progressive Baptist Church to put on a Sacred Marriage weekend. Theological and racial divides gave way before God's greater truth."

This picture was taken in December of 2001, down by the Nooksack River, as we walked around looking at the dozens of bald eagles who visit every winter. Lisa is on the far left; next to her is my oldest daughter Allison, then Graham, and in front, our lastborn life-of-the-party girl Kelsey."
