A Mother’s Day Gift Masterpiece

Gary Thomas —

A Mother's Day Gift Masterpiece Final

To celebrate each other regularly during a lifelong love, you have to get creative with a lot of presents. If I get my wife just two things for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, her birthday, our anniversary, and Christmas, that’s ten distinct presents a year, which means over the course of 30 years I’ve had to come up with hundreds of new ideas.

Just a few years into our marriage, I found a creative catalogue with distinctive wrapping that had the kind of funky stuff I thought Lisa would like—and I was right. After the first big hit, I relied on that catalogue until it was discovered. Lisa got the mail before me one day, saw the catalogue, flipped through a few pages, and said out loud, “This stuff looks really nice, but what idiot would pay these prices?”

She then flipped to the back, saw the distinctive wrapping, and said, “Apparently, my husband.”

So this year, to help out my fellow husbands, I’ve got a novel idea that should go over well with at least 90% of the wives. What if you could give your wife a professional level foot massage in the privacy of your home, all by yourself?

The fact that it’s a foot massage takes away some of the suspicion wives have whenever the word “massage” is mentioned, which many wives take as code language for “30 seconds of rubbing my back, with expectations for 30 minutes of me rubbing…his, among other things.”

Denis Merkas from Melt Massage for Couples is offering a unique video showing professional techniques to give your wife a surprisingly good foot massage. It only takes a few minutes to give a good foot rub like this, but the effects—physically and emotionally—can last for days.

Dr. John Gottman, renowned marriage expert, has said that the two most important commodities of a happy marriage are kindness and generosity; foot rubs are a good way to display both kindness and generosity.

Denis’ videos are clean, tasteful, and sophisticated. There is no nudity of any kind, and the model is his wife. These videos are made by a couple for couples. And in case there’s any doubt, Denis is a professional massage therapist who knows what he is talking about.

He’s offering readers of this blog a Mother’s Day discount of 33% for the foot rub video (good until May 10th). You need to use the promo code gary33 to get the discount when you check out. That brings the total price down to $16; that should fit most any husband’s budget, but the good news is that $16 can help you give little gifts of kindness and generosity for years to come.

If you want to check this out, here’s the link:

Don’t forget to order by May 10th (you’ll need to do it sooner to have it by Mother’s Day) and use the promo code gary33.

This idea is Lisa-approved, so I hope you’ll check it out.

awesone article on gifts for wives for Mother’s Day.

  2. What a fun idea! Many years ago, my husband and I took the love language test (from the 5 Love Languages)and we both had similar scores, “physical touch” scoring highest and “gifts” scoring last (we agreed gifts could actually be taken off of the list altogether ) “Acts of service” fell very close to the 2nd highest score for us both, so this idea will definitely fill our love tank!!!
I don’t know how you heard about this, but I’m grateful you did and decided to share it with us. What a treat!

    • Thanks for the affirmation. Denis Merkas approached us quite some time ago, but I hesitated until Lisa reviewed it. Denis seems like a great guy, I checked with another blogger who has worked with him, and the videos really are well done.

      • You bet, in fact I’ve purchased this video and it is like you suggested, done with class.
I enjoyed learning new techniques on giving a professional foot massage. Denis is quite easy to follow and watching him in action helps those, like me, who need that visual example.
This was money well spent, thanks again. Good call on Lisa’s part!
